Image size and change based on format of view

Hi, I have some images which are perfect in size for desktop and need to remain as they are but when viewing on other devices they are too narrow, is it possible to have an image change to its mobile equivalent (A new, formatted mobile friendly version) when viewing on a mobile/tablet device?

Images are scaled on mobile by their nature and our theme does not influence. You can hide the column which shows the image on the desktop and replace it with text on the color background.

Awesome, can I do that too with the replacement text for the phone version (not have it displayed on desktop view).
Also, how do I actually do it? I’m trying to hide the image on mobile view but can’t find a way to do it?
