Image Variations and Gallery Zoom

Hi there,

I have two issues I hope you can help me with.

The first issue is related to the ‘Use images from product variations’ theme setting, I have it switched on but it doesn’t appear to work. My variable products all have custom images uploaded to the each variation but it’s not showing them on the product pages. Am I doing something wrong?

My second issue is on the product page image gallery, when a thumbnail is clicked the lightbox opens up with the main image. Is there any way it can work like the image gallery on this page? https://e0f2f1da23.nxcli.io/case-studies/pro-fit/ – the image clicked is the image that pops up.

Also in regards to the image variations is there any way I can have them to take the same shape as the uploaded image rather than just square or one of the preset options?

In order to show the Image swatches, you should clear the “Color swatch” field and then the images will appear.

Sorry, there is no such option for making swatches shape the same as the uploaded image.

That did cross my mind, so I set up a test attribute called ‘Test Colours’ which doesn’t have any colours selected on the colour swatch setting but the images uploaded to the variations on that product still don’t show.

Hi Luke,

Thanks for the video. I’m aware that you can upload images to the attribute terms but my issue is multiple products use the same attribute but have different variation images.

Please see the screenshot I have uploaded of the theme setting ‘Use images from product variations’ that states ‘Swatches buttons will be filled with images chosen for product variations and not with images uploaded to attribute terms’

This is what’s not working, apologies If i’m misunderstanding what that setting is supposed to do.

For the “Use images from product variations” option, you should also clear the “Color swatch
” fields or the “Text swatch” in your attribute settings.

I have tried that, that’s why I created a new attribute called ‘Test Colours’ to ensure everything is clear and that is why the variations on the product page I sent to you are appearing as a dropdown.

In Theme Settings -> Shop -> Variable products -> enable the “Grid swatch attribute to display” option as well.

Ok thanks, sorry I thought the setting was a site wide rule that made all swatches use images if one had been uploaded to a product variation. I didn’t realise it was related to only the attribute chosen to be dispalyed on the product grid.
