    Hello,

We are experiencing an issue related to SEO meta data on our WooCommerce site using the Woodmart theme. Specifically, when the AJAX shop filters option is enabled, the meta title, meta description, and canonical URL set via the Rank Math SEO plugin are not being applied correctly on product category and subcategory pages. This is affecting how these pages are indexed by Google and other search engines.

Interestingly, after refreshing the page manually, the correct meta information appears — which leads us to believe this is related to how AJAX loads the content.

When we disable the AJAX filters from Theme Settings > Products archive, everything works as expected, but of course, we lose the smooth user experience that AJAX filtering provides.

Could you please let us know if there is a workaround or a recommended way to keep AJAX filtering enabled without breaking the meta SEO data (meta title, description, canonical) on category pages?

We appreciate your help and would love to find a solution that maintains both performance and SEO integrity.

    Thank you in advance!
    Best regards,
    Stefi, Ark Way

Thank you for your question! Here’s an explanation of how page scanning by search engines works in the context of AJAX filtering and link navigation:

During SEO scanning, search engines (such as Googlebot) do not perform mouse clicks or execute JavaScript actions that are triggered by a click. Instead, they analyze the HTML code of the page and follow standard links defined in the href attribute.

This means that a category page will fully open (not via AJAX), and the bot will see the correct meta data (title, description, canonical) set via the SEO plugin.

    Kind Regards
