lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantHello,
I’ve been experiencing some issues with Google Tag Manager and the data layer provided by the theme during the checkout process.
When running Google Tag Manager in debug mode and placing an order, no “purchase” event is detected on the thank you page. However, when I switch to a default WordPress theme and perform the same operations, Google Tag Manager correctly tracks all the necessary data.

Thank you for your support.
March 6, 2025 at 10:08 am #643288Hello,
Could you please record a video of how it works with the default theme? We will do the same with WoodMart and check what is different.
Kind Regards

lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantHello,
I am sharing the link to the recorded session below as primary content.
From there, you can see how Google Tag Manager (on a staging site, but the same happens on the live site) does not detect the “purchase” event. In the video, I switch the theme to a default WordPress one, and you can see that the “purchase” event correctly appears on the Thank You page after order completion.
Thank you for your support.
March 6, 2025 at 5:09 pm #643541Hello,
Please disable any plugins not directly related to our theme and provide us with your admin access details. We will log in to your dashboard and investigate the issue. Please ensure that you only keep the following plugins that are necessary for our theme to work correctly:
– WoodMart core
– WooCommerce
– Elementor/WPBakery Page BuilderThank you in advance.
March 6, 2025 at 5:24 pm #643553
lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantThank you for your support. I have shared the access details in the private field.
I have disabled all non-essential plugins, keeping only those necessary for testing and managing the connected GTM.
This is a staging site, so feel free to enable/disable anything you need. The system only sends order confirmation emails to the customer placing the order; no other emails are sent, so you can run as many tests as needed.
After disabling all plugins, I tested again, but the issue persists.
Please let me know how to proceed.
Thank you.
March 6, 2025 at 5:40 pm #643560Can we troubleshoot this issue in real time as you did in your video?
March 6, 2025 at 5:42 pm #643561
lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantThis is a staging site, so you are free to test and make any changes as needed (except for sending emails to customers ahaha ).
Would you need me to be available in real-time for any testing or troubleshooting? Let me know if my presence is required, or if you can proceed independently.
March 6, 2025 at 5:44 pm #643562
lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantObviously, use the test gateway I have set up. If you know other test gateways, feel free to use them as well.
March 7, 2025 at 10:49 am #643748I mean that I need to be able to see these events in tag assistant in Google. Otherwise, I can’t know if it works or not.
March 7, 2025 at 10:51 am #643751
lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantFor me, there are no issues. How can we proceed? Can you provide me with an email so I can add you to the Google Tag Manager workspace?
March 7, 2025 at 10:52 am #643753Yes, here is
xtemos.studio@gmail.comMarch 7, 2025 at 11:16 am #643768
lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantOkay, invitation sent! Let me know if you need anything else.
March 7, 2025 at 2:37 pm #643854We just tested this with our theme and got the “purchase” event correctly. Here is a screenshot https://gyazo.com/03a25b8020e48fbb5b75bdaf8a780234
March 7, 2025 at 3:58 pm #643884
lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantThank you for your feedback. However, what you showed me are the Analytics events, not the Google Tag Manager container (GTM-ecc…)
The issue is that the GTM container is not detecting the purchase event, which is the core of the problem.
March 7, 2025 at 4:42 pm #643912Just tested with the default theme and get the same https://gyazo.com/34f81fbc4409dc4c2ae252d32629d9a6
March 8, 2025 at 5:40 pm #644122
lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantWhen you say “default theme,” do you mean the WordPress default theme?
If so, the issue is not with the default WordPress theme but with your theme.
With your theme, the “purchase” event does not appear in GTM events or trigger correctly.
Could you please investigate this further? Let me know how we can proceed.
March 8, 2025 at 5:41 pm #644124
lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantWith the default theme, I also did not experience the issue. This is clearly visible in the video I shared.
March 10, 2025 at 10:59 am #644374Yes, we mean default WordPress theme. Can you please check the screenshot and let me know if we tested it right? https://gyazo.com/34f81fbc4409dc4c2ae252d32629d9a6
March 10, 2025 at 11:01 am #644378
lucabaldobaldacciniParticipantThank you again for your support.
I found the issue, and it was not related to your theme. The problem was caused by Iubenda and its script, which, for some strange reason, was interfering with Google Tag Manager.
Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks again!
March 10, 2025 at 11:02 am #644379Great, we are glad that you sorted it out. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
