issue with Matomo Analytics tracking

Hello there!
I’ve recently switched from Google Analytics to Matomo (former Piwik). Matomo does also offer the tracking of eCommerce events, for example abandoned carts. But it seems there is an issue with Woodmart.
Woodmart is triggering “addEcommerceItem” already when a product page is just viewed. The item has not yet been put in the cart. So that results in every single product view being counted as an abandoned cart in Matomo which is not very helpful.
Could you please look into this?

Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront to understand is it our theme issue or not?
