NeoParticipantHello Woodmart Support Team,
I am trying to use the Search Synonyms feature in the theme settings. I have added the synonyms exactly in the format shown in the settings (for example: Soyuducu = xaladennik). However, when I type the synonym word in the search bar, no products are returned. Because of this, I would like to clarify a few points:
What exactly is used as the source for synonyms?
Do synonyms match against:product title,
product slug/permalink,
or product category name?
Regarding caching behavior
Does the synonyms feature require any additional cache clearing?
I am currently using the following cache layers:page cache
Varnish
Redis
Is there any cookie, endpoint, or cache exception that needs to be configured specifically for the synonyms functionality?
At the moment, synonyms are saved and visible in the panel, but they do not affect search results on the frontend. I would appreciate your guidance on how to make this work correctly.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Artem TemosKeymasterHi Neo,
Thanks for the details. A few clarifications and checks to help you get Search Synonyms working:
About how synonyms work
– Synonyms only replace the entered term before the usual product search runs. The search then matches the same product data your current search is configured to use.
– Synonyms are one-way. If you need both directions, add the reverse as a separate line, for example:
Soyuducu = xaladennik
xaladennik = SoyuducuIf it still doesn’t work, please share:
– One exact synonym pair you added.
– A product example that should match (product URL).
– Whether the issue is in the header AJAX dropdown, the search results page, or both.We’ll check further once we have those details.
Kind Regards

Artem TemosKeymasterAs we can see, it works as expected at the moment https://gyazo.com/18a1be3b238c01a06dcdf6dfa71f05bb
Note that it works in one direction only. So you need to addxaladennik = Soyuducuas a separate line.January 5, 2026 at 6:01 pm #703233
NeoParticipantxaladennik = Soyuducu
I added it as you said but the result did not change.
