Just updated the woodmart which has created issues with my layout

Just updated the woodmart which has created issues with my layout. I am using a child version but I have now lost the standard menu that is dropped down on the front page and it changed to a mobile menu….why would an update do that? How can I get the standard menu back? I have attached a screen shot that shows no menu on the left hand side.

I have fixed the issue…hopefully further updates do not change the current layout and defaults
