    Hello,
I am trying to make the default Woodmart sort by widget appear as a drop-down menu so it can look like the other 2 filters.

    Hello,

There is no option to modify the “Sort by”, at the same time, each widget has the option to be displayed in the list or drop-down. Please check this manual, perhaps it would help: https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/widgets/

    Hi there

I also would like to show the sort by filter as dropdown. It takes way too much space as a list. Why such a good theme hasn’t that option implemented? 🙂 For other filters you can choose between list and dropdown but why not in the sort by filter? Can you provide some code to make it happen? Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

You can configure the drop-down view in the widget settings: https://gyazo.com/ba1c61c28ee47282071f3cc06e282f4d

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

    Hi Elise

Thanks for your answer. But unfortunatelly it’s not true. Only in the filter widget you can choose between dropdown and list. In the sort by widget you can choose nothing, only set the title. See here: https://nimb.ws/zc3XSD

Could you may provide a solution to show it as dropdown? This actually is standard in almost all themes and I’m wondering why not in Woodmart.

    Hi Elise

Thanks for your answer. Have you checked that in your installation? I installed the classic widget plugin and it changes nothing with the filter options or how the are displayed in the frontend. Still no option in the “sort by”-widget to choose dropdown.

I think that’s a bug in the theme or the “sort by”-widget. With the standard installation like in your demo the sort by function is built in the same line as the breadcumb and the option to choose how many products to display. See here: https://woodmart.xtemos.com/product-category/furniture/

I have a lot of attributes in my shop that’s why I want to show the attribute filters in a horizontal way. So I choose the theme option to enable the filter widget area above the products. Like this: https://nimb.ws/XtYR0h

If you set that to “yes” the sorting functionality disappears from the shop. Instead there is only the filter icon on it’s place. You now have to add the “sorty by”-widget to the filter widged area but there is no option to choose dropdown. And it looks really shitty and takes too much space as a list: https://nimb.ws/91QsFr

So as a conclusion you should implement a dropdown view into that widget. OR (better option) you shouldn’t hide the normal sorting functionality in the theme if someone choses to display the filter area as widget above the products. Hope you can help me with that. 🙂

    Best regards,
    Fletsch

Ok I found a solution. When I set the theme option “shop filters content type” to “custom” instead of “widget” then I can build the filters as html block and the sorting functionallity stays where it should be. But it’s definitely not working with the widget area.

    That looks OK now: https://nimb.ws/T8UvDE

    Hi Elise

Now If I have to use custom blocks for the horizontal filter area on desktop. How can I still have the filters on mobile in the widget area so that they slide in in a vertical list? Any chance for such a setup? On mobile the vertical list as widget looks much better.
