    Hi,

There is a massive lag while editing border radius in the block editor.

Tested with all kinds of browsers, newly installed Windows and Mac (Apple Silicon), no browser extensions.

Disabled all the plugins. But, still, the issue remains.

This reminded me Bricks Builder doesn’t keep the all property values toggle on.

For example, if I wanted to change the border radius, I can click to link all values, save. After re-selecting the element, then the toggle is off.

    Added screen record.

This happens very regularly and becomes impossible to work in the block editor, unless the page gets refreshed.

I couldn’t find a way to work with classes visually in the block editor. I’m assuming this feature isn’t available?

    Hello,

We have temporarily disabled all plugins that are not related to our theme and installed the latest version of Gutenberg. Yes, it works a bit laggy but still usable and we don’t have any massive lags that require browser reload. Could you please check from your end?

    Kind Regards

I disabled all the plugins as well, but after a while it became unusable. Why do we need to install Gutenberg? Isn’t that already available in the WordPress core?

I tried other block plugins as well, but their styles are not loading on the front-end. So far, the only one that works is Stackable.

The lag is there and it is an issue. I hope it will be paid attention to and get a fix.

    Thanks.

The Gutenberg plugin contains the latest version of the Gutenberg functionality, while the one included in the core is a bit outdated. Installing this plugin will not impact the website performance negatively.

The problem is that we still can’t see the problem you demonstrated on the video. The option works correctly but a bit laggy. But it doesn’t make the browser stack.

    Kind Regards

    Hello!
I have seen this problem too. It is solved by restarting the browser.
As a React JS developer, I can say that most likely there is a memory leak. I had the problem on 4-5 components of Products and long time edit.

    Hello @norborov

Can you please create a separate topic and provide us with all the necessary information so we can check this on your website too?

    Kind Regards

@norborov I agree. Experienced this with other builders before, and it was the JS framework. For example, Bricks Builder had to re-do some adjustments with Vue to resolve this issue.

But, of course, this might not be related at all.

As Artem agrees, there is a lag. But our experience looks like doesn’t convince them to take another look at how they engineered this part.

Here is a link about the issue. But, please keep in mind, I’m trying to give an example with the JS frameworks.

I would like to use other block plugins, like Generateblocks Pro. Class-based editing. Variables. Components.

But, the theme doesn’t function properly with other plugins.

    Hello,

Yes, there is a lag, but we don’t see the problem where the browser stacks completely. And the link you provided doesn’t help, unfortunately.

    Kind Regards

I can’t replicate the browser getting frozen.

But, if we were to put that aside, is it not possible to address this lag? And the overall performance in the block editor? Do you guys don’t see the point of having a performant block editor experience?

It makes the working in the block editor inefficient.

We have been working on the performance of the Gutenberg builder a lot. But there are also bugs from WordPress and WooCommerce side that remain opened and slow down overall performance. For example:

    https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/64732
    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/pull/51058

Note that these issues get worse when more and more blocks are registered. So if you are using additional plugins for Gutenberg it may be slower without fixes to these issues.

When our theme installed without any plugins it works quite fast and we don’t have massive lags and browser freezes.
