MikroTechParticipantHi there! 🙂
I’ve seen the newest demo you released for Mega Electronics Woodmart theme, and I really like the design for it!
https://woodmart.xtemos.com/mega-electronics
I’m considering switching to this new design, although I noticed that the Loading Speed for the Mega Electronics is about ~2s slower than the Default one is, making it load in about 4s on average.
Is this just because the Demo’s Hosting Site hasn’t yet been fully optimized (like the Default one has), or should we expect the Mega Electronics to always be slower than the Default one is, due to all the new features that it has added?
I would also like to mention that the new feature which allows you to scroll through the entire product’s image gallery while still on the catalog (or category) page always requests a new copy of the same image from the server even when scrolling back to images which have been previously loaded (ie scrolling from left to right, then back to the left again) – although this does seem to be calling cached copies of the image, is this the correctly intended behaviour? Is it not possible to display that image that was previously loaded again without needing to make another request to the server?

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Our new demo has approximately the same loading time as the main demo. Here is a screenshot https://gyazo.com/cfba9649ed119fbd0d2bc00c5020a392
But note that your website speed will depend on a lot of different factors and it is up to you how you optimize it. You can use fewer or smaller images, caching plugins, etc.As for the product gallery, we will review this and try to fix if possible. Thank you for the feedback.
Kind Regards

MikroTechParticipantI understand, as I have spent a lot of time optimizing the speed of our website.
However I do get different results when comparing the two different demo’s though, and I’ve taken a screenshot below for you.
I believe that the reason I have loading times of 2s & 4s in comparison to your 500ms would most likely be that the demo websites don’t seem to be connected to any CDN, and I’m browsing from South Africa.
But with that aside, I still found after testing each version of the demo by refreshing about 10 times each, that the Default Demo would finish within 2s while the Mega Electronics always took 4s.
The number of requests is also quite a bit higher too, from ~140 to ~230 on Mega, but I have noticed that it also loads many 10×12 pixel size resolutions of the images which are hidden within the category menu, and then later requests the correct 60×60 size once the menu is opened (due to Lazy Loading?) However, these 60×60 images will not be loaded while the Developer Tools “Disable Cache” button is ticked, and the category menu will not receive any of it’s images. These do load normally when Disable Cache is not ticked though.
I would like to switch to the Mega Electronics soon, and I’m just reporting my findings here for you. If you know of any other reason there is a difference, or if I do find any, I’ll report it here.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Yes, you may see the difference because our Mega market doesn’t have CDN set up. It also doesn’t have WP Rocket JS and CSS optimization turned on yet so that is why you see the difference in the number of requests.
Kind Regards
