Menu Open on Click

Hello,

In my current site menu, I have subcategories on some of my menu items i.e.
Women
-Bags
-Shoes

The two sub items appear when you hover with the mouse and you can click one or you can also click the header (Women). I don’t like this because on tablet you can’t “hover” over the menu, you can only click with your finger and then you can’t pick the sub-items.

Since also my “Women” page is not one I care for, I would like the menu header item to do nothing on click. Just to show the sub items on hover.

Similarly on the mobile side menu, I would like for when you click on the menu items (like “women”), the menu just expands the sub-items, exactly like when you click on the little chevron at the end of the row.

Can you help me with this please?

Hello,

As soon as a menu in Appearance > Menu has been created and saved the Custom fields [for theme] in menu item would appear and you can find the option “Open on mouse event” which allows setting click event on the menu item, in result Mega menu block would appear on click.

This only fixes the tablet part of the problem. When I do that on the mobile menu it does not change anything. The Women page still open when I tap it. What I want
… for mobile:
When I click on Women I just want the sub-menu to expand, no page should open. (like when you click on the little arrow at the end of the row)
… for main menu
I want the megamenu block to open on hover but IF the user clicks on the header (Women) nothing should happen. I still want the hover, not a click to open the mega

This is configured in WordPress. Out Theme just displays the menu which you have created. Follow the instructions provided: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Menu_User_Guide
