Migrate from WPBakery to elementor
-
Hi Support, I want to migrate my site from WPBakery to Elementor, what steps are needed for this and are there any issues that could arise?
Hi serkan.celik,
Thanks for reaching to us.
WoodMart works with either the WP Bakery builder or the Elementor builder at once, but not with both at the same time. The demo content would be based on the chosen builder. It is not possible to switch from one builder to another after setting everything up.
You will have to reinstall and recreate all from scratch.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Best Regards,
Hu Hung,
the problem is that the current site already is a productive site but we want to migrate to elementor, since building from scratch would mean that we lose all statistics, user accounts etc. this is a nogo for us. Is there really no workaround? Would only the sites that are build with WPBakery stop working rather than the whole site? If this is the case we can just rebuild the sites that were previously build with WPBakery and rebuild them with elementor.
Best regards,
Serkan Celik
Hi serkan.celik,
The settings of elements of WPBakery builder and Widgets of Elementor are the same. So you can rebuild by replacing one by one elements with widgets, it would takes time based on number of items on your site.
Please create a dev site and do there without affecting your product site. Devsite – also called a Staging platform where you can test issues, enable/disable features/plugins thus such changes will affect the main site. The below article will help you to create it:

Best Regards,
Hi Hung, we have created a staging site to test this: we have switched from WPBakery to Elementor in the woodmart settings. As expected the pages build with WPBakery broke, we will rebuild them with elementor this is no problem.
Can you confirm that nothing else apart from the pages build with WPBakery will break?
Hi serkan.celik,
Thanks for details.
I cannot guarantee that, it depends many things you added. But at first, please rebuild with Elementor widgets first.
Then, you face any issues, please let me know and I will try my best to help you.
Best Regards,
Thank you Hung, ticket can be closed
