Migrating content from staging site to Production site causes missing feat image

I just recently migrated all my content from my subdomain (dev) to live (product) server. Everything seemed to port over except for the featured images. All the products are external products and the images are on the server is pointing to an invalid path, it’s loading https://sitename.com/https://remoteimagepath.com/picturefilename.jpg instead of just the https://remoteimagepath.com/picturefilename.jpg. How can I fix this?

Our theme does not influence migration process. Please check the issue on the default theme.
I would recommend remove all the content and migrate it with tools > export (from dev) and tools > import (to live)
