    Hi there,

I’m looking for some general advice on the best steps for migrating a dev site over to the live site for a client.

My client doesn’t want to share cPanel hosting access for security reasons. They have asked if they can just “have the code” which I assume isn’t really possible/advisable for a WordPress site.

Should I advise they install WordPress on their existing domain, and give me login details for the wordpress platform?

I note from another forum post that you advise using All-in-One WP Migration and Backup plugin to migrate content.

Will this import the necessary WoodMart core plugins and theme files smoothly? Do we need to apply the licence to the client site first, or can you do that after the import via the plugin?

I’ve supplied the dev and client site urls below.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Hello,

    – When you use any plugin or any tools from the hosting providers, it will migrate the complete site you do no need to migrate the theme settings or other settings from the site separately, It will move the complete site. The best way to migrate a site is a free plugin All in one WP Migrate https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/

Or you can try any other plugin as well. Also, contact your host support, perhaps they provide the services to migrate the site.

    – You can apply the license after the migration.

    Kind Regards
