Issue after updating to Woodmart 2.0 – My Categories menu is set up in Appearance | Menu with only four categories, yet my Shop page header is pulling in all categories (five) which are now shown in my Page Title header and also in my mobile Categories menu. Somehow the theme is now ignoring the custom menu I created.

Please note that currently I have disabled the category I don’t want with css (.cat-item.cat-item-15{display:none;} but if you inspect the element and disable that, you’ll find that the category Payments shows up. However, this category is not in the My Categories Menu.

    Thanks,
    Louise

    Hi,

Please, provide us a screenshot of this problem for better understanding.

    See screenshots below.

I have five product categories (excl. Uncategorized)

I have set up a Categories menu with four of my product categories (excluding the Payments category)

I have set this menu as the “Categories” menu in Theme Options.

I have set the page title to include the Categories menu.

It is pulling in ALL categories including the Payments category – not the Categories menu.

I’ve switched off the css that removes it for now. I’ve added a screenshot of the functions.php that removes the Uncategorized category only.

Actually, the shop page categories menu in the page title is generated automatically based on all categories in your shop. You can’t manage it via Appearance -> Menus as other regular WordPress menus.

OK – that’s a little bit of UX confusion then. Maybe calling the option in Theme Options “Categories in page heading” instead of “Categories menu in page heading”?

    Thanks for explaining.

OK, thank you for the suggestion.
