andrea-2145ParticipantHi, I’m feeling really frustrated trying to use Elementor’s containers—especially with how unintuitive they feel. I’ve spent several days watching every official Elementor tutorial on containers and Flexbox, but I still can’t get things to work the way they’re supposed to.
Here’s what I’m trying to achieve:
I want a single container with a layout where there’s a heading at the top (like “Frequently Asked Questions”), and directly below that, two elements side-by-side that share the same background. From what I understand, this involves using nested containers, but it’s just not working as expected. (please see screenshots).I’ve included a video showing what I’ve tried so far. No matter what I do, Elementor either turns every element into a column or every element into a row—I can’t seem to mix them within a single parent container.
Here’s what I’ve been doing:
I create a parent container and set it to Flexbox.
I choose the “column” structure so I can have the section title at the top.
Then I add two inner containers underneath for the side-by-side content.
The idea is to have one vertical container (for the title) and then a horizontal layout below (two containers next to each other), all within the same parent so they can share the same background color. But when I try to set the inner containers to “row,” nothing happens. If I switch the parent container to “row,” all the containers become horizontal and I lose the top-to-bottom layout I need.
The only workaround I’ve found is to use separate containers for the top and bottom sections, but then they don’t share a background, which defeats the purpose.
Could you please create a video tutorial that shows exactly how to structure this layout using containers and Flexbox in Elementor?
Also, I sometimes need the bottom two containers to be in a 2/3 + 1/3 width ratio instead of 1/2 + 1/2. I haven’t been able to figure that part out either—would you mind including that in the tutorial too? Thanks so much in advance!

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
I left the “Test page” in Dashboard -> Pages so you can see how I have configured that – https://prnt.sc/AU3uD3pLKx6W
Let me know if you have any questions.
