NEW label ‘Mark product till date’ doesn’t work

The option “Mark product as NEW till date”, which you have in the ‘Product setting (custom metabox from theme)’, doesn’t work. When I mark the product date as yesterday (or any date in the past), the ‘New’ label still is visible on the product. Attaching pictures.
