Newsletter Popup from Header Link

Hi,
I’ve followed the instructions to get the newsletter popup working by clicking on the default Newsletter link in the header and that’s great. When the popup form is submitted however, the popup closes and the user gets no feedback about success or failure. I’ve also added the recommended custom JS to cause the popup to reopen if there is a mc4wp-response, but this is not a smooth experience for the user – the popup closes, then re-opens. Is there a better way to keep the popup open throughout the form submission process and display the result?

Sorry, but there are no other options for this in our theme and newsletter form plugin also.
