number of columns and product per page

Hello,
where do I set the number of columns and product per page?
it looks like it’s not really working for me. for example on the search it showing 3 column only. no matter what I do.
please have a look and let me know how to solve it.
I want to have 4 columns and 100 products per page.

I am familiar with these settings but it’s not working.
no matter what I am setting there it is not effecting the columns and number of products. also, I check that there is no custom layout.

any idea?
