Hi, After all I decided to switch my Magento 1 website to Magento 2 for SEO reasons. I am still building and the website wasn’t working yet, but I used the purchase key. Can I still use the same purchase code for a different URL? Or do I need a new key?

You can activate your license twice for one and the same site. So you can change your domain without any problems.
