    Hello WoodMart Support Team,

I am reaching out regarding two questions related to my website running the WoodMart theme.

    1. Issue with “Our categories” Section Display After Update
I have noticed an issue with the “Our categories” section on my homepage. The section title is visible, but the list or grid of categories is currently not rendering or is blank.

This issue occurred immediately after I updated the WoodMart theme to version 8.3.7.

    Current Theme Version: 8.3.7
I have performed basic troubleshooting steps, including checking the relevant element settings and clearing all levels of cache (theme, server, and browser), but the categories still do not display. For your reference, I have attached a screenshot showing the section before the update (where it was working) and after the update (where it is blank). Could you please investigate this potential bug following the update?

    2. Confirmation on Using Child Theme
I am ensuring all custom modifications (functions, CSS, template overrides) are placed within a Child Theme to guarantee that my customizations are preserved during future theme updates.

Could you please confirm if using a Child Theme is the official and recommended best practice for making modifications to the WoodMart theme?

Same issues, all categories gone since the theme update, annoying. Can’t restore them on the shop page itself, but I did select the home categories manually again in the meantime.

    Hello,

Please deactivate all the 3rd party plugins and activate only theme-required plugins on the site, and then check the issue. I am sure your issue will be solved. Then activate the 3rd party plugins one by one and check which plugin is creating the issue for you.

Otherwise, if the issue still exists, then keep the 3rd party plugins deactivated and share the WP login details, so I can check and give you a possible solution.

    Best Regards,

Still broken, I mean it’s from the theme update. Since then I got the error, logins below.

    Hello,

    @c.freivogel

In your product archive layout, you have added the Product Categories widget and set its Data Source to Custom Query. With this option, categories must be selected manually.

If you want to display all product categories automatically, please change the Data Source to WooCommerce Query. This will ensure that all available product categories are shown without manual selection: https://ibb.co/TMDW6c6t

Great, thank you very much. Wasn’t aware of that, was never in that menu before and update messed it up 😀 Changed now, appreciated.
