Page Speed Recomendations

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR to the Xtemos Team!

So we have purchased a Woodmart premium version, We are very excited to work with the theme.

As a starter, we have installed a test trial in our server using a fresh WP installation and following the basics of a new install. The whole thing is fresh as it can be.

After installing the demo page ‘Gadget’ we then proceed to test the page speed using ‘Google page Speed’.

Your original demo site have scored very high, with MOBILE-53 and DESKTOP-100, however we couldn’t replicate that in our fresh install, where we got only MOBILE-32 and DESKTOP-79.

Can you guys give us an idea how we can get for starters a similar homepage Speed similar to the Demo?

In general, our theme is already optimized and don’t have too many resources to make your website slow. Most likely, your website performance suffers from the content you have added to your website. It may happen in case of too many plugins, large not optimized images or other resources. So we suggest you to remove unnecessary plugins, install some kind of JS & CSS optimizing plugins like Better WordPress Minify and a caching plugin like WP Super Cache. Also, you can use GTmetrix tool to see what makes your website slow and optimize these parts of your website.

As we said, this trial site is a fresh install, a brand new WordPress site with no extra plugins except the ones necessary for the theme to work. Also no content at all, we didn’t change anything after the site was deployed, we have done the install exactly as instructed.

We will try one of the plugins recommended and we come back to you, meanwhile we would appreciate any idea regarding what could be different between our install and your demo that could be interfering with the speed load. The speed load of the sites is the most important aspect that we are looking for and it was the decisive reason that led us to purchase your theme.

Hi guys,

We managed to install the first 2 plugins that you have suggested, and it they did wonders!

The site now scored 63 on Mobile and 100 on Desktop (Google), over GT it got a B84%+ with a 3.7s load time. Hoohay!

We will start now some customization to see how it goes.
