anattaParticipantHi, I used your demo https://woodmart.xtemos.com/#
It was really fast, the add to cart TTFB was just around 0.3 secondsWhile I do a fresh clean WordPress installation, using woodmart theme, the add to cart function best performance is 1.3 seconds TTFB. With only 9 plugins, which 7 plugins are your requirements such as Bakery builder, woodmart core etc. Except these two plugins which I don’t think is the cause of slowness.
WooCommerce Stripe Gateway
WooCommerce PayPal Checkout GatewaySo I believe it’s to do with server configuration.
My server is hosted in Google Cloud engine,
1vCPU, 4GB RAM
with PHP 7.2,
mysqld Ver 10.1.37-MariaDB-0+deb9u1 for debian-linux-gnu on x86_64 (Debian 9.6)
WP_MEMORY_LIMIT 1028MCan you share as much as possible your server side configuration/performance tuning that you have done on your server side ?
Where is it hosted ?
Maybe also on the wordpress site also.August 27, 2019 at 11:33 am #140611
Eric WatsonParticipantHello,
Thank you for contacting us.
All our websites are hosted on a dedicated server from hetzner. But if you don’t have to purchase an expensive server for this and you should be able to achieve the same performance with your hosting as well. We suggest you to test how it will work on VPS for example also.
We are using WP Rocket and Better WordPress Minify. But you can use W3 Total Cache instead of these two plugins.Kind Regards

anattaParticipantHi, I think Google Computing Cloud is equivalent to VPS, isn’t it ? We have the whole node of CPU that is used by my website only, with dedicated RAM, with root access, etc.
Also I think this doesn’t have to do with caching because the Add to Cart request is a dynamic post request that bypass the caching plugin, also it does not have to do with minify css/js because it does not request for new JS/css file on that ajax request.
So this give me a hypothesis that to achieve that 0.3 seconds is almost impossible unless we have a very strong server like the dedicated and expensive one like yours ? Which most small/medium business can only dream of, or have you tried achieve this speed on VPS server ? Or anyone else here does ? I am feeling that this theme is rather slow. Before I change to this theme, my old theme is performing well with 48 plugins, it takes 0.7 – 1.3 seconds TTFB to add to cart, now with this theme it takes 2.8 seconds and above. I really love this theme for all of it except the speed.

anattaParticipantHi, I am glad to say that after I change the WP Super Cache to W3 Total Cache, the speed has increased tremendously. It takes 0.5 – 1.3 seconds in average for the add to Cart.
I think the W3 Total Cache is a better caching with more advanced feature like object caching etc,
The server is rather strange also, at certain time of the day the speed is slower or faster.
But I can say with W3 Total Cache, seems to be solved, at least for now 😀
Thanks
