Portfolio Subcategories

I want to hide subcategories from the front page of the portfolio and be visible only when the main category is selected.

So, for the front page of the Portfolio, I need to display only the main categories. All subcategories should not be visible. When the main Category is selected – it displays only subcategories of that main category and the rest should be hidden.

Sorry to say there are no options in theme settings to achieve this. Such modification requires complicated code customization which is not covered by our support.
