Hello,
We are using the Woodmart theme (Pet Shop prebuilt website) and are experiencing an issue with global colors.
We have changed both Primary and Secondary colors in:
Woodmart → Theme Settings → Styles and colors → Colors
The changes are saved successfully, and the new colors are visible in the page editor / preview mode.
However, on the live frontend the site colors remain unchanged (still using the default demo colors, e.g. purple), even after:
• clearing all caches
• completely disabling LiteSpeed Cache plugin
• hard refreshing the browser
The issue affects buttons, search icon, and other UI elements that should inherit the Primary color.
As a test, we confirmed that:
• Adding the same CSS variable via WordPress Customizer → Additional CSS works correctly on the frontend
• Adding the same CSS via Woodmart → Theme Settings → Custom CSS does NOT affect the frontend
This suggests that:
• either the demo/prebuilt styles override the global color variables on frontend
• or the Theme Settings colors are not properly applied/loaded in the final frontend CSS
Our questions:
1. Why are the Primary / Secondary colors from Theme Settings not applied on the frontend, although they are saved correctly?
2. Is there a demo/prebuilt CSS or preset that overrides these colors?
3. What is the correct and recommended way to make global theme colors apply site-wide, without relying on Customizer “Additional CSS” overrides?
We would like to use the theme in a clean, maintainable way, relying on Theme Settings rather than manual CSS overrides.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards
Dejan
