Product archive Hover Effect only with Product Gallery but no Variants

I love the hover feature in the product archive page. This is only active when adding product gallery images. The problem is when I have style variants (not sizes or colors) the product page is showing all that product gallery images with variants that are totally different and do not make sense. But for the archive page it would be nice to show variants images.

I can manually disable the images with css, but it’s not a elegant way. Would be fine to have a toggle in tha page for that in the future to disable not only the showing but do not even load that image.

You can disable the image on hover via Theme Settings -> Product archive -> Product styles and turn off the “Hover image” option.

maybe my question was not clear. I know to to disable hover, but I do not want to disable hover. I want to disable showing the product gallery on the product page when hover is active.

So in this case, you can change the product gallery control to “Arrows”, thus you will disable the product gallery when hover is active.
