Product automatic preselection for one size and one color

For products with only ONE size and only ONE color .. why does the buyer have to select (click on) the size and then select (click on) the color.. before the add to cart button is enabled.
If only one size then obviously that is a default .. same goes for the color.
please advise the work around.. this will tire out the buyers.. alot of the products are one size and one color.
