Product breadcrumbs not showing category and subcategory

Hi Woodmart Support Team,

I’m currently working on a WooCommerce store using the Woodmart theme, and I’ve noticed that the product breadcrumbs do not display the product category or subcategory. For example, the breadcrumb path shows:

Home » Products » Product Name

But I would like it to display the full category structure like:

Home » Products » Air Conditioners » Inverter Models » Product Name

I have set product categories properly, and I’m using Yoast SEO with breadcrumbs enabled. Still, the breadcrumbs on single product pages do not include the category path.

Is there a setting I may be missing in the theme options? Or is there a recommended way to ensure the product category (preferably the primary category) is shown in the breadcrumbs?

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

I’ve tested the breadcrumbs using the default WooCommerce Storefront theme, as you suggested. In that case, the breadcrumbs display correctly in the following format:

Home / Test / Test Subcategory / Test 3
(i.e. Category / Subcategory / Product)

I have attached the screenshot below.

This confirms that the issue is specific to the current theme.

We created a dev environment where you can disable 3rd party plugins and enable the default theme for testing.
Meanwhile I have tested – disable plugins and theme. Next I enable plugins and when enable the Woodmart theme, the breadcrumbs was without category and subcategory.

Currently, you have the breadcrumbs from Yoast SEO – https://prnt.sc/GxJaYT5qO9Oz , so either adjust them via the plugin or disable those options to have a default breadcrumbs.

I have edited the “Yoast breadcrumbs for shop” configuration in Theme settings -> Page title. Now the breadcrumbs are shown correctly.
