Product categories widget – show sub categories

Hey Guys,

I have a grid of product categories with is made using your “product categories” element.(See screenshot attached).

When a user clicks on a category it sends them to the products of that’s category. Is there a way to send them to the sub category grid instead? Before sending them to the products?

I found this website https://www.macarionline.com using your theme that has this functionality when you click on “Toys & Games”. Is this possible?

Yes, you can display the sub categories in the category page. By selecting the “Show subcategories” for “Category display” option from Appearance >> Customize >> WooCommerce >> Product Catalog.

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. One more question. The grid becomes uneven and not in line when certain category titles are longer than others. Is there a way to make the titles do not make the grid seem uneven? See screenshots.

Try the “Masonry grid” option to avoid this behavior. You need to go to Theme Settings >> Shop >> PRODUCTS STYLES >> Masonry grid.

Try to use the same image sizes for your thumbnails while creating the categories. Because the height of the box depends upon the inner content. So you also have to use the titles of the same length.

Because there is no other way to display all the subcategories of the same size.

All my pictures are the same size when I upload. The problem is because of the titles being a different length. Example: “Keyboards and Mouse” and “Monitors” are different lengths.

To use titles of the same length is not a good solution and is unfair to ask from your customers.

Kindly deactivate all of your third party plugins and share the admin login info,let me check your site with default theme plugins.

So I can test and let you know if there is any possible way to display the grid items in the same sizes.

Your problem is resolved. I have test your site and just disable the masonry grid option from the theme settings, then in result the categories grid shown in symmetry and all the rows are in a straight line no matter the size of image is small or bigger or the title is in the two lines or one. But there is symmetry.

Also I want to inform you that your are using an old version of theme. Kindly update your theme and plugins to latest version for better efficiency.

To fix this at your home page. You need to edit your homepage and then edit the product categories element and then select the “Default” layout except “Masonry” and save the changes and update the page.
