Product description on shop page

I am searching through your forums and I see you have a solution for adding information on the product page before or after the add to cart button, however I would like to add the short description or the long description (it doesn’t matter to me) on the shop page. I do not want the user to have to scroll over as in the “scroll to see summary” option.

Because I have such a small number of products it makes more sense for my store to show the product description without the user having to do any further action.

Is this possible?

By default the product short description are set to be displayed first after the product title on the single product page and this will depend on the length of the description whether the user needs to scroll or not.

This is how it works.

If you want to set the product grids on the shop page then you can set the product style according to your requirements from Theme Settings >> Shop >> Product styles.

I see the screenshot you linked to which is the option of to show summary on hover, however I am aware of this but was asking if there is a way to show summary without hovering.

Is there something we can add in the CSS or some javascript or other code to allow the product grid on the shop page to show the description.

Note that I know this should be available because when you do list view it shows the product description. So another way of thinking of the problem or solution would be to do a list view with the option to define 3 or 4 products whoing on a row.

I know you asked for a screenshot but there is nothing I can think of tho show you as what I am looking for is best described by the view on the list view for the products, please let me know if you still want a screenshot but I think the description showing on the list view option for products is pretty obvious.

Unfortunately there is no such option to achieve the hover state as a default state of product grid. So the short description can’t be displayed without a hover effect.

It requires core files customization and this is beyond our limitations and support policy.

Ok understood, but I would like to ask if something else is possible, is it possible to modify the list view so that the list view shows say 3 or 4 items in a row instead of the current default of 1?

If we could do that then we would have the product description we like because the list view is perfect for u except that it only allows for one item per row.
