"Products (grid or caroucel)" element not loading datasource in elementor

Hello Xtemos,

We are having problems with the theme elements in elementor.
I am using html blocks for the mega menu, in this html block I use the “Products (grid or caroucel)” element/widget to showcase a product from the opened category.

But when I edit the element, click on “All products” and then write the category or just some letters, it says “No results”, where usually it would list the categories in a dropdown according to the search terms.

I am loading this as a template but this doesn’t seem to be related to the issue. I tested the product element with a new html block aswell, same result.

After loading the template, switching from “List of ID’s” to “All products” and back to “List of ID’s” will break it even more. It makes the input field white, with a loading icon above it.

Yes, we deactivated all plugins, cleared cache, nothing seems to work.

Problem 2:

Our custom font “Itim regular 400”, used for product titles on the shop pages and sidebar menu is not working anymore. It used to work, then it didn’t. I removed and re-uploaded the font and it was working again, but not for long. Now I tried the same but it doesn’t work.

And as a logged out user, none of the fonts or icons work. I did followed your custom font guide.

Problem 3:

Our sidebars are only working when the page lay-out is set to ‘Theme’, is this normal?

I added information as private content.

Meanwhile we solved the first issue with the data source. It was an invalid attribute name.

2) Please update the Theme to the latest version then try re uploading the font then check back after clearing the cache.

If the problem still continues then deactivate all the third party plugins and tell me then we will troubleshoot with the theme plugins.

3) Yes this is the default behaviour.

1- After re-uploading the font and clearing all cache, no fonts are working at all, backend and front end.

2- Our product/category count is completely wrong. I have tried different things but it doesn’t seem to work. Also it seems to count out of stock products aswell. How do I reset this?

3- On the Theme settings, the ‘Products per page’ setting in Product grids is not working. The value will change the amount but not correctly. I suspect this is related to the problem above.

4- At the bottom of the burger menu in the header, how do I change the link of the button under the last item of the menu? The grey button with the arrow in it. It has the class: woodmart-nav-link.

Disabling all 3rd party plugins and clearing cache is not working.

Please assist.

Oh, and the theme settings, including fonts, seem to save at first, but the old settings re-appear at a later moment. Like this it is impossible to test the changes I make.

Cleared wordpress cache and browser cache.

1,2 &3) Please deactivate all the third party plugins, activate the parent theme then clear cache and check back.

If the problem continues then leave all the third party plugins deactivated and tell me then we will troubleshoot with the theme plugins.

4) Sorry but there is no option in Theme Settings available to change the link of the menu item you mentioned.

1- About the fonts, I reinstalled all the fonts again, it is fixed now.

2 & 3- For problem 2 and 3, I did as you said but it is not fixed yet.

4- It’s a button with an empty link. Could you help me to change the link with piece of code? I know it is not an option in theme settings, that’s why I am asking you.

Please look into the other problem with saving theme settings aswell(in my last reply), it is really an issue sometimes and possibly related?

I turned off all plugins and switched to woodmart parent theme now, we are going to sleep.

You are free to connect and do whatever is neccessary, we have backups.

Also, we have one more problem:

6. When we set a page (built with elementor) as Shop page, it will show the content underneath eachother on front end, rather than next to eachother in columns, inside a section. As soon as we make it a normal page again, it’s back to normal on front end.

3)I have logged into your website and checked the issue by activating the default WordPress theme storefront and the issue of the product grids is the same. Which clears that the issue is not from our theme. I have reactivated the woodmart theme back on your website you can try activating the storefront theme yourself.

2) Please Go to Woocommerce >> Products >> Inventory and try to hide out-of-stock products from the catalog.

6) It is happening because the Shop page is not editable using the Elementor page builder because its content is controlled by woocommerce.

Hello xtemos,

We seem to have fixed the product count issue, it also solved issue 3. So 2 & 3 are solved for now.

-1. The font problem is still not completely fixed. Our fonts and icons load slow and for a second it shows a broken layout after refreshing the page.

-2 We are using the Categorie dropdown in the page title for mobile, but it doesn’t work the way it should. We want it to show the parent categories with an arrow next to it that will open the sub categories underneath it, this works but only one time. After clicking an item, it doesn’t show the arrows to see the sub categories anymore. But when I refresh the page, it will work again for one click. (see attached screenshots). I hope you can clear this up.

1- I have tried to load the website on different phones and computers, it’s the same on all of them at the first load after clearing cache. For a second, icons will show as squares and the font will be a basic font, Roboto I believe. Sometimes the layout shows broken for a split second, with a lot of blue letters. Do you not see this after clearing cache?

If we are seeing it without cache, our customers will be able to see it too I assume.

Any help in the right direction will be appreciated.

2. Sorry I had the page title turned off, it is on now.

I want the dropdown menu to show on all product-category pages, see private area for link.

1) It is not an issue it is because when the browser loads the page, it reads the HTML document from the top to the bottom, from the left to the right. When reading the HTML document, the browser would have read the whole DOM before reaching your CSS and JS scripts and executing them.

The Rendering engine:

The responsibility of the rendering engine as well… Rendering, that is the display of the requested contents on the browser screen. By default, the rendering engine can display HTML and XML documents and images. It can display other types of data via plug-ins or extensions; for example, displaying PDF documents using a PDF viewer plug-in. However, in this chapter we will focus on the main use case: displaying HTML and images that are formatted using CSS.

Rendering engines:

Different browsers use different rendering engines: Internet Explorer uses Trident, Firefox uses Gecko, Safari uses WebKit. Chrome and Opera (from version 15) use Blink, a fork of WebKit.

So this only happens because of the Browser Rendering. To avoid it you have to use Cache on your site.

I have logged into your website and enabled the option to show current category ancestors from Theme Settings >> Shop >> Sidebar & Page title and the Categories are working fine as they should be.

Please clear cache and check back.
