Digital PRParticipantHello, we did everything we could for speeding up a website load time, and its still really bad. We instaled pro wp fastest cache plugin, we paid cdn for all photos on site, we also contacted hosting company to speed up site from their side. We dont know, what is the problem.. the load speed is 12 seconds which is unacceptable. Please help. The site is: https://aluks.com/

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
In general, our theme is already optimized and don’t have too many resources to make your website slow. Most likely, your website performance suffers from the content you have added to your website. It may happen in case of too many plugins, large not optimized images or other resources. So we suggest you to remove unnecessary plugins, install some kind of JS & CSS optimizing plugins like Better WordPress Minify and a caching plugin like WP Super Cache or use WP Rocket for both tasks. Also, you can use GTmetrix tool to see what makes your website slow and optimize these parts of your website.
Kind Regards

Digital PRParticipantIf you would even read a question, you would see that we use CDN, we optimized all images, also we use minimum required plugins, we use pro version of wp fastest cache, we also use autoptimizeand shortpixel. we get all results in gt metrix from 95 to 100. But the naked site is loading for 3sec… can you please look up the domain: https://aluks.com/

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Could you please disable all plugins that are not related to our theme and provide us your admin access so we can check it?
Thank you in advance

Digital PRParticipantI cant disable plugins, its a live site, and its a working day. the link is https://aluks.com/
login info is in private.

Artem TemosKeymasterIn this case, you need to create a staging development copy of your website. There, you will be able to do such kind of experiments without any harm to your production website.
Kind Regards

Digital PRParticipantOk, here you go. You can try here on this link: http://aluks.digitalpr.ba/ i alredy disabled all plugins. login is the same.

Artem TemosKeymasterWe see that the home page loading time is around 5 seconds and it is due to a lot of images. Your home page is 3.4 MB and 2.4 is images. Also, you don’t have any optimizations done on that side including browser cache, CDN, gzip compression etc.
September 12, 2019 at 2:16 pm #143520
Digital PRParticipantWell you told me to disable all plugins, how can there be optimizations without plugins??
September 12, 2019 at 2:19 pm #143522
Digital PRParticipantThis is full optimised live site:https://aluks.com/ GTMetrix: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/aluks.com/ifLMrDQ2 , and the load time is around 10 seconds.

MikeParticipanthi, we use same theme and i can tell you its not theme fault! on our eshop we have 4k products at this moment and all the time there are almost from 10 to 30 customers searching and seen products on our eshop. our website is loading in 5 sec on full loading and the most loading its taken by live chat tidio plugin (without tidio is loading in 3,5 sec) the funny is that we not use any cache plugin at the moment and also we not use cdn service because we need to make some modification on new features, we have already tested only with cache plugin (Swift Performance) and believe me its loading lightning fast (1,7 sec) 25 requests 1mb home page. first of all the website speed its depend on vary scenarios like hosting server, clean code modifications, image optimizations and many many more. at this point the only thing i can advise for you is to check on what database server your website is running, example MySQL, MariaDB, etc. if its running on mariadb you need first to make a clean installation of your website on a mysql database and then make some tests again. we have in the past the same problem, we install our website first on mariadb and the results was terrifying, then we switch on mysql and the same website was loaded 6 seconds faster than mariadb database

Sorry to hijack the thread.
You have long TTFB.
In most cases that is caused depend on your server environment and hosting. Also some plugins for optimization tend to increase the TTFB, although you can see high scores the speed is low and that is you want to first fix.
Also many plugins can increase server proccessing and slow your site.
CDN also increase the TTFB in many cases. We had similar problems with our hosting and after trying many plugins we found the best possible combination to use.
First leave only woodmart theme and woodmarts plugins enabled.
Disable CDN and any server optimization caching etc.
Run at least 2 times GTMETRIX.
See how the page behaves, how much time takes to load and what is the TTFB in seconds.
Install WP-Optimize. I know it’s for wordpress maintenance but they have a super speedy cache feature that generates static html files and is very fast. Enable the cache.
Check again with GTMETRIX at elast 2 times. 1 to warm the cache and 2nd to see the results.
If your TTFB is above one second with the default woodmart’s plugins only enabled and without any CDN and server cache, only the wp-optimize one, then you may consider switching server or buy a better hosting packer from your provider.

Digital PRParticipantThank you newsprince, i just saw that i have crazy long wait time: 2781.04 ms and i have 0.00 download speed, as you can see here: https://www.bytecheck.com/results?resource=https%3A%2F%2Faluks.com%2F , but whats crazy about it is that i have the same copy of the website on the subdomain: http://aluks.digitalpr.ba/ without ssl, and it loads i 4,5 seconds with 32.92 ms wait time and 15812.000 download speed, see here: https://www.bytecheck.com/results?resource=http%3A%2F%2Faluks.digitalpr.ba%2F . Something aint right.
Thank you for pointing me to look at TTFB!

Artem TemosKeymasterYes, and we don’t see any problems with the performance on on the website where plugins are turned off. When you will enable all these features it will work well. The only problem we see now is large number of images that can make loading time up to 3-5 seconds.

Digital PRParticipantArtem. I activated all the plugins, and its still fast oon the subdomain. The problem is wait time and 0 download speed on live domain with SSL. What could be the problem?
September 12, 2019 at 9:00 pm #143591
newsprinceParticipant@Digital PR
Maybe is a server config misconfigured with SSL. Ask your hosting provider if the SSL that is installed is setup right.

Artem TemosKeymasterHi @Digital PR,
Yes, it seems to be some kind of server problem since the delay is about the first server request and usually, the theme shouldn’t influence it. Ask host support to investigate it from their side and then contact us with the result.
Kind Regards

Digital PRParticipantOk so we concluded its problem with ssl certificate, it slows down website for 3 sec… After instaling ssl on the staging site, it also slowed down the wait time to the same degree. When i disable he ssl, the wait time goes to normal.
This is what i got from hosting support (hostgator):
It is important to understand that static files retrieved from remote locations must also undergo through a https:// request. This includes Javascript and CSS modules embedded within your site’s codebase. At times, these remote hosts do not have your code optimized which causes a delay in delivery over an https:// network since most modules are not designed with that in mind.
I dont know… this seems to much time delay for ssl, they say they checked server and things from their side, and thats everything fine. But i am still clueless why my site slows down 3 sec, after ssl force. I have other websites built on other themes, with the same ssl from the same hosting provider, working perfectly with no slowdown.

newsprinceParticipant@Digital PR
Check with the default wordpress theme enabled and SSL enabled. The ttfb is the same?
September 13, 2019 at 11:53 am #143740
Digital PRParticipantWhen i change the theme from woodmart to twenty nineteen the wait time goes from around 2900 ms down to around 1200 ms.
September 13, 2019 at 8:09 pm #143730
Artem TemosKeymasterIf you specify HTTPS url in Settings -> General then all JS and CSS resources are loaded via https too. Our theme is coded according to WordPress Codex so it is not a problem. You can see this in the page’s source code.
