Recommended Category Thumbnail Size

Hi,

I want to use the product categories blocks on my homepage. I’ve added it and everything is fine however I’m having problem with the image quality on retina screens.

What size would you recommend to use for the original thumbnail image? I’ve tried 860×860 and 1000×1000 however they always appear low quality but my other pictures do not.

I’ve attached a screenshot of the category block I’m trying to add below showing the quality issue. I’ve also attached a link to my homepage showing this live.

The original 1000×1000 image is good quality except when I upload it to the category thumbnail and display it in the category blocks it doesn’t look as good quality.

Any ideas?

Hello,

All depends on the images. As you can see our demo uses 860×860 px and they look nice. You will need to test several sizes till you find the best one.
