RobertLlumorParticipantHi.
I’d like to know if you could send me or provide an URL to download the 4.5.0 version of the Basel theme.
Thank you.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Thank you very much for choosing our theme and for contacting us.
Version 4.5.0 if very out-to-date and it would not work well in conditions of updated Woordpress and other required plugins.
Can you describe the problem you are going to solve, perhaps we would suggest a better solution.
In any case, I have requested to find this version from archives.
Best Regards

RobertLlumorParticipantThe problem is that I have to deal with an installation with the 4.5.0 version that has been modified, so I need to know what has been modified to be able to update and not lose the modifications.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
You can view the changelog here: https://themeforest.net/item/basel-responsive-ecommerce-theme/14906749 please scroll down, it would save you time.
Next, please read this manual before update: https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/faq-guides-2/4-x-5-0-migration-guide/
Make the full backup of your site and update taking into consideration the suggestion provided in the manual above: https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/update-theme/
Do not forget to make the full backup of your site, please.

RobertLlumorParticipantI know how to update a theme and I read your changelog before purchasing the theme.
Again, the problem is that the 4.5.0 version I have installed was directly modified, so I need the original version to compare and know what was changed before updating.
Please send me a copy or let me download the original 4.5.0 release, thank you.

RobertLlumorParticipantHi again, and thanks for the 4.5 archive.
After moving all the modifications that were made directly to the base theme into the child theme, I updated from 4.5 to the latest version, 5.4.2. Then I went to the new theme settings page and saved it, as stated in https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/faq-guides-2/4-x-5-0-migration-guide/. Apparently all the previous settings were lost and the site now looks like a default Basel installation, with the Basel logo and everything.
Is this intented behavior? Is updating from 4.x to 5.x not supported? Do I have to set all the settings again? In the theme’s changelog, in the 5.3.0 version it says:
REMOVED: Redux Framework backward compatibility
Does this mean that if I update to 5.2.0 first, my settings won’t be deleted? If that is the case, please send me the 5.2.0 archive too.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
You see we have not faced the cases when site owners delay the update and try to update from 4.5 to 5.4.2.
Please try to restore your site, save your widget’s content, and export the theme settings, then when you update import the theme settings. I am not sure it would help, but it is worth trying as if it works, you would not need to restore the site from scratch.
Best Regards

RobertLlumorParticipantI tried what you suggested, it didn’t work.
So if I undestand correctly, installing for example 5.0 on top of 4.5 would actually correctly migrate my settings and keep my widgets and other stuff, right? Could you please send me a 5.0 archive (or the last version that would migrate properly) like you did with 4.5?
Thank you very much.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
For now, I am not sure your attempt to go through all the theme releases would help, you see for this period not only the theme was updated by WordPress, and all the plugins as well.
I am afraid you will have to configure the site from the stretch.
Restore your site from backup, and move to any testing platform, then check the settings on the initial site and make the same on the new site.
Best Regards
January 27, 2021 at 12:51 pm #261804
RobertLlumorParticipantCan you just send me the 5.0 release for a last attempt please?
If it doesn’t work I will configure it from scratch, but I’d rather try one last time before having to do it.
Thank you.
