Search Filter Results Not Accurate
-
Hi,
The search filter results are not always accurate when searching for items on the website. I tried testing it out to see if it was working properly. When I searched for “Red Dress”, 3 out of the 7 search results came up under Red Dresses when they were either not Red, or the word “Red” were not in their names. Nor did I filter them under attributes as Red.
Also, When I added the letters “s” or “es” at the ending of Dress, Jumpsuit, Top, Bottom, etc., nothing came up under those searches unless you dropped the “s” or “es” at the endings. Most of the times a viewer will add an “s” or “es” when searching for something in a particular category that’s not yet a known specific item, so this definitely needs fixing. You can check it out for yourself. Please see website’s link below. Thanks.
Hello,
Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront to understand is it our theme issue or not?
Regards
Hi,
I’m not sure what you’re saying. Whether or not those other two themes you mentioned have the same issues or not, the problem on my website is not supposed to be happening. I do a lot of online shopping personally,so I know the issues I mentioned shouldn’t be happening. Did you actually logged into the website to test it out for yourself, and to get a better understanding of what I was trying to say?
Hello,
The search mechanism is provided by the WooCommerce plugin and not by our theme. That is why you need to check how it works by default to see if our theme influences it or not. Most likely it is how the search algorithm developed and we can’t fix it if it has the same behaviour with other themes.
Kind Regards
Ok, I understand what you were saying now. I’ll ask the developer to switch to the other themes you mentioned then see how it goes. Thanks.
