Search speed is really slow

Hi there,
Having some major issues on this theme with speed. I have a cache plug-in, gone through plug-ins and also got the images really small in size but when you go to search something it competely slows down. I’ve had my hosting company and developer look at this and both suggest it could be the theme itself. Could you please take a look and investigate whats causing the issue?

Do you mean that only search speed is slow? All other parts of the website are running fast enough?

Hi, yes thats right – website seems to be ok when on the pages but the top bar on search it just completely goes slow and then when you go to the shop itself as well.

If you mean that it happens on the shop page, could you please compare the loading time between our theme and default WordPress theme?

hi, when i change to another wordpress theme it works fast as it should, see private content to see resiults and grading of the site – big diffrenece

I’m sorry its not – ive just tried to search something and my screen has now gone white.

Anytime I type in the search bar thats when it goes slow

Can you follow this journey please and you’ll see what I mean.

1. type in ‘bamboo’ in the search bar and wait a while for this to load
2. then click the ‘shop’ page in the purple nav bar and then wait some more
3. you’ll notice it takes even longer to load to page again and also the sub categories take some time to load in
4. then type in ‘mug’ in the search bar and you’ll notice it loads the homepage and not the mugs themselves

I’ve done these steps on another theme and I do not have this problem.

We don’t see any difference with this algorithm.

And we don’t see the problem from 4th step. When we type mug we see products and not the homepage.

Can you show me a screen video of this as ive just done this now and its take over 2 mins to do and it does go back to homepage when you type in mugs after those steps.

That two videos were recorded one by one and I did exactly 4 steps you wrote.

You can clearly see the issues I’ve said several times to you

Too slow when you go to shop page
Sub categories dont show up staright away
When you type in mugs the homepage comes up and doenst load fast

All this clears up when I change the theme – PLEASE look into the theme files and help me resolve this

Sorry, I sent you the wrong video. And your video is not clear so we can’t analyze it well. Anyway, we search your words, go to shop and home pages and never see any related problems. Maybe you have some problems with your internet connection. We can’t reproduce it.

Theres nothing wrong with my web speed and ive asked three other people to look at this and is all the same.

I’ve just been speaking to another developer friend of mine and he has uninstalled everything and loaded everything back fresh and seems to have resolved this although he says it stuggles on firefox browser which is what ive been using when you type in the product in the search menu and seems to be slower in general compared to other broswers.

I can confirm the speed is running ok after we’ve uninstalled everything and loaded it all back in. Not sure if theres something there you need to know about if anyone else has the same issue in future
