SELECT OPTIONS button doesn't change to ADD TO CART after selection is made

Hi There,

We sell products that come in different variations (i.e. different sizes). So when a customer is on the Product page, the SELECT OPTIONS button appears (instead of the ADD TO CART button) so they can select a size first. But once they have selected a size, the SELECT OPTIONS button should change to an ADD TO CART button. However, the button doesn’t change once they’ve made their selection..

Hello,

Please just activate the theme and Basel will be deactivated automatically.

Also, you can try to deactivate Grid swatch attribute in Theme Settings -> Shop -> Attribute

I activated TwentySixteen and deactivated Basel.
At first, the issue was NOT happening in TwentySixteen.
So I switched back to Basel and then it started happening again (in Basel).
So then I switched back to TwentySixteen to continue testing.
Then as I was toggling from one Product page to another Product page, the theme started randomly changing back and forth between Basel and TwentySixteen! So I cleared my cache and tried again, and it kept changing back and forth between Basel and TwentySixteen.
Currently, my theme is set to TwentySixteen.
I thought I better not touch anything and tell you about it first.
Here are the Product pages that I was toggling back and forth on:

Do you know why it is randomly changing back and forth between TwentySixteen and Basel? I’m not sure if you will be able to recreate the issue, as it seems to be temperamental.

I deactivated a caching plugin and would like to run a few more tests.
That might be the culprit.

Hi,

The very strange issue, but it may be caused by some kind of cache on your website or on the server. Try to disable all kind of caching plugins on your website and contact your hosting providers for help too.

I contacted WP Engine and they showed me how to clear the page cache.
That fixed the issue of the themes toggling back and forth.

Regarding the original issue, it was happening on TwentySixteen and also on Basel. In other words, the SELECT OPTIONS button wouldn’t change to an ADD TO CART button (after a selection was made) on both themes.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

By default, WooCommerce doesn’t have this option. There shouldn’t be “Select options” button but instead “Add to cart”. Maybe some of the plugins installed changes this button.

I deactivated all the plugins and did some testing.

I found the culprit (it was a plugin called “Woo Invoices”).

Do you know if the green box in the screenshot is part of the Basel theme?

I figured it out..

I turned off “AJAX Add To Cart” and it fixed this issue.
