Shipping class not edible / useless?

Hi,
On the page where a vendor creates a product listing, there is an option to change the shipping class, there is a link that prompts the vendor to go to the page to change this (within shipping options) however when going to this page there seems to be nowhere to change the shipping class or add a new one, so this seems redundant?
See attached screenshot but could you please advise how we would either make this useful or maybe hide it?

Hi, it is on the add new product page. I’ll put the link of the page in the private content but I think the page would be unique to each new product.
