Shop page image hover not working for single products

on the main shop page the image zoom is not working like in the demo.

Please make sure you have uploaded images big enough. If the images are quite big, please make sure you have enabled the option “Hover image” and your product has at least one image in the product gallery.

what is the recomended size for the image to be zoom on them.
i tried everythig and nothing seem to work. maybe it’s because the images are pngs
