BGIMarketingParticipantEven with this new option that you’ve given us in the theme update, it’s still not working for me.
Please see the screenshots.
Shouldn’t the same subcategories show up on the subcategory page with this new option selected?
Thanks!

Artem TemosKeymasterHi,
Please, send us a link where we can see the problem.
Thank you

BGIMarketingParticipantThanks for the quick reply.
Because of your draconian file size limit of 512k, I had to open up Photoshop to compress my last screenshot that shows the issue. 😉
I’ll have to create an account for you to see the page because it’s currently in maintenance mode as it’s being created.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
First of all, let’s clarify your issue. The title relates to categories.
Your screen 1-1 shows theme setting where you disabled sidebar.
Your screen 1-2 shows filter in the right part (you have added the widget to Shop Filter widget http://prntscr.com/jc1ws7 I do not recommend to do that if you want to display this widget just add to Main shop area and enable in theme settings)
Your screen 1-3 I see this link http://nabil.cabinetcorp.com/product-category/palena-gloss-white/base-cabinets-palena-gloss-white/ and this child category is not empty. For example, this product is assigned http://nabil.cabinetcorp.com/product/shaker-antique-white/3db12-3-drawer-base-cabinet-12-inch-shaker-antique-white/
As for the notifictation that this category does not have products, please deactivate additional plugins not related to the theme and check the issue.
Best Regards

BGIMarketingParticipantThanks for your reply.
Don’t worry about all that other stuff please, especially the widgets.
This site is in active development and we’re having to change how we do everything in order to get the Shop Category Header to work properly the way we need it to. It’s limitations are VERY frustrating.
No other product categories are set up to work with the header so please don’t look at all those. They are not ready. Just look at Shaker Antique White. Once that header is working the way that it should, we will duplicate all these settings to all the other categories.
The plugins are disabled. Please take a deeper look. Thanks. You have my authority to turn off and turn on plugins. Just let me know what you did.

Artem TemosKeymasterHi,
As the name of this topic states, the option is called “Show category neighbors if there is no children”. So it means that if the category doesn’t have any subcategories, its page title categories navigation will show its neighbor categories. All categories that share the same parent one. But the link you sent (
Shaker Antique White
) has other subcategories and that is why it doesn’t show its neighbor. Please, write us if we understand your request wrong.Sorry for the inconvenience.

BGIMarketingParticipantAh, I see.
I was hoping that when you you went down into a subcategory – if there was no more subcategories – it would show the neighbors or continue to show the current level of subcategories.
This Header is pretty awful in it’s current state. While it looks so wonderful in the demo and it looks so useful from a UI/UX standpoint, when you see how you guys have implemented you can’t do with it what you expect you could.
For example, when I go into Shaker Antique White and then into Base Cabinets – If there are no more subcategories, the header should still show the subcategories under Shaker Antique White and just show the Base Cabinets subcategory as highlighted like in your demo – not just go into Base Cabinets and then just display a message that says “No more categories exist”.
Let me tell you, I’ve never seen “No more categories exist” on Amazon. How do you expect people to use that top header?
Do you think customers who run big e-commerce shops that would need a template as robust and awesome as yours only uses Top-Level Categories for their products? It seems that way since that’s how you’ve designed this thing. And the fact that you cannot specify which categories the header displays is also VERY frustrating.
What would have been much more useful for those of us that need to use the header space for category navigation is just let us use HTML Blocks in the header. This would allow us to create our own category-specific headers which would allow us to design our way out of this design hole we find ourselves in.
It’s just really sad. We liked your template. It was awesome. But the main reason we bought it was for the category header navigation. Now that we see how you expect us to use it, we cannot use it in this way…
We have 21 cabinet styles and six subcategories under every cabinet style. It seems like your template should have been perfect fit for this. Oh well.
Can we get a refund?

Bogdan DonovanKeymasterHi,
We have checked your categories nesting and found that your Shaker Antique White -> Base Cabinets have empty, unused sub-categories (https://gyazo.com/79111b7847c1d606dde76bd21935dc72).
In this case:
– You can arrange products in unused empty sub-categories.
– You can remove empty unused sub-categories.
– We can provide you code that will show empty unused along with default used categories.
– We can provide you code that will hide “No more categories exist” text.Otherwise, if you want a refund, we will approve it, without objection.
Best Regards

BGIMarketingParticipantYou guys just solved my problem. When I removed the empty subcategories (that I didn’t even know would affect the header because they were empty), the header started working closer to how I expected.
Fantastic. Thanks for helping out with that!
