gizmomanParticipantHi Guys,
originally I had my side bar only on category/subcategory page.It doesn’t appear on it now. However, with the new woocommerce update it appears on the shopping cart page, and the new products page ( which I was told is impossible to do before) and some other pages on the right side.Thanks.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Enter the pages you do not have the sidebar and disable it with page options https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/options-for-pages-2/
Best Regards
January 23, 2019 at 10:17 pm #103758
gizmomanParticipantI checked, all the pages showing the side bar are set to option none but still showing up. You can use the login details and check it your self.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Please navigate to the Theme settings > General layout and change http://prntscr.com/mbfn5c and http://prntscr.com/mbfnnb
Best Regards

gizmomanParticipantWhen i do that, then there is no side bar for my category/sub category page or shop page either
January 24, 2019 at 5:36 pm #103931
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
I have checked your site. I set sidebar both in General settings for common pages and in Shop > shop layout for shop and category pages and I did not see any sidebars at all.
So please deactivate all the plugins not related to the theme and switch ot the parent theme and make the settings as follows:
Theme Settings > Shop > Layout > set the sidebar.
Shop page set 2 columns in the page options https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/theme-options-panel-2/
In the result, you should have sidebars in the shop page and all the categories page.
Next, enter the shopping cart page set “None” in the sidebars and set 1 column and the sidebar should disappear.
Best Regards

gizmomanParticipant1.What you are saying doesn’t make any sense. First of the very first thing you say is disable all plugins, but without them I can’t run the site and also in this case the only change was the upgrading of woocommerce plugin. so there is no point.
2. Even if I do activate the parent basel theme and just change the shop page layout to two colums ( with the bar on the left) it doesn’t show for category/sub categery3. lastly, it is working fine on my live site with the older woocommerce ver. what changed? I am using the same theme version and also the child theme which was coded by you guys.
So could you please pass this on to some one else, who might be able to tell me why?
ThanksJanuary 25, 2019 at 7:21 am #103988
Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
As we can see, you don’t have any widgets added to your sidebar in Appearance -> Widgets. What exactly do you want to display on your shop page in the sidebar?
Regards
January 25, 2019 at 9:26 am #104014
gizmomanParticipantplease check the link for what I am talking about
January 25, 2019 at 10:44 am #104029
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Navigate to Appearance > Widgets and add widgets to the Shop page widget area. You will have the sidebar on the shop page and on the categories pages.
Best Regards
January 25, 2019 at 12:01 pm #104044
gizmomanParticipantCould you be more specific please? Like what widgets to add as i can see any relating to my existing side bar.
Thanks
January 25, 2019 at 12:41 pm #104053
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Please have a look at the screenshot https://gyazo.com/5ff6225ea6c30b9d709876ad6d56f2ea
You can add the widgets as per your needs.
The calendar has been added just for example. http://prntscr.com/mc118b and category page http://prntscr.com/mc11qdShopping cart page does not have the sidebar http://prntscr.com/mc11yy
Best Regards
January 26, 2019 at 12:12 am #104157
gizmomanParticipantThanks. I have managed to work it out. However, when I updated my live site for some reason it worked without adding any of the widgets to the side bar. Not sure why?
Any way i have one last question?
I am using your grid list option now and for some reason when it lists it doesn’t show any text. how do i fix it. pls check the link.
also can you tell me how to create the brand carousal on my front page to replace the one I already got(using a plugin) using your brands option?
January 26, 2019 at 8:29 am #104178
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Your category page Accessories – navigate to the Theme Settings > Shop and choose “Hover on product” http://prntscr.com/mcdw04
Find the Brand element http://prntscr.com/mcdwny you will see the options to set the carousel http://prntscr.com/mcdwxb
Best Regards
January 26, 2019 at 12:05 pm #104203
gizmomanParticipantThanks, but it only works for the grid view where it adds extra text but not for list. there is still nothing on the list and just the product title
January 26, 2019 at 3:25 pm #104211
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Your current Shop products view is the Grid. If you set the List view you will have an excerpt, provided you have inserted it into the short product description http://prntscr.com/mchnsk
Best Regard
January 27, 2019 at 1:24 pm #104304
gizmomanParticipantSorry, don’t use short description. IS there any way it will work with the full description?
Also my show side bar doesn’t look right on my mobile screen. Please check the image attached.I have seen other Basel theme sites where the show side bar button is nicely listed under the bread crumbs in the same lie as the filters+ how do I do that? ( in the category/sub category section & shop)
Thanks

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Please deactivate all the plugins not related to the theme and check again. Leave these plugins for checking http://prntscr.com/m8bny3
Best Regards
January 28, 2019 at 1:27 pm #104484
gizmomanParticipantIn the past for every issue I had, you told me to disable all the plugins and it never fixed any of the issues. it was always something to do with the theme. The problem i have is more of a design issue and may be adding a break after the breadcrumb. Almost all the plugins I use now are for back end. The page i have issue with, and the only ones active are your bredcrumb, your grid list ( i have taken off the plugin I used to use) and your filter. Nothing else.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
You have two sites and you say one site is ok and other has the problem. In most cases, such a problem is caused by plugin conflicts and when you disable all the plugins not related to the theme problem is solved. In any case, leave these plugins activated http://prntscr.com/m8bny3 and check the issue or permit us to deactivate the plugins for the period of checking.
Best Regards
January 28, 2019 at 3:28 pm #104542
gizmomanParticipantI didn’t say that one site is ok. Both sites got the same design issue. Like i said before every single issue I had with my site so far none of the design issues were solved by disabling a plugin. it was always a css fix. i do understand the plugin conflicts can cause problems. but on that page there is no plugin running now for it to create any issues.
January 28, 2019 at 6:03 pm #104559
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Please confirm the permit to disable all the plugins for the period of checking what can take 20 min.
Best Regards
January 29, 2019 at 1:18 pm #104698
gizmomanParticipantit is ok. last time it broke my site when all the plugins were disabled. I might have found the problem now. I think it might be to do with the brands plugin i got.
January 29, 2019 at 9:38 pm #104804
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
It means there are harmful plugins. Deactivating plugins just stops the functionality but must not break the site.
The reason is plugins.
Best Regards
January 30, 2019 at 10:33 am #104900
gizmomanParticipantI agree with you. Please check the info
January 30, 2019 at 11:46 am #104917
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
You do not need to touch the child theme. Most likely the custom code was provided by your request. Just switch to the parent theme and check the issue. It the problem remains to deactivate the plugins.
Best Regards
January 30, 2019 at 2:46 pm #104958
gizmomanParticipantI have already tried that and he parent theme works ok
January 30, 2019 at 3:49 pm #104968
Artem TemosKeymasterMaybe the code written previously for this customization is not compatible with new versions of the WooCommerce plugin, theme or any other plugins. In this case, it requires additional fixes or customization but it is not our theme support scope.
February 4, 2019 at 5:17 pm #105847
gizmomanParticipantI took your advice and cleaned up the child theme and got rid of any code related to the plugin and also disabled it successfully and using your theme brand elements now. However I have some issues
February 5, 2019 at 7:04 am #105917
Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
1. This page is just your shop page with filtered by brand products
It is not a separate brand page and it can’t have h1.2. How exactly have you created this cloud?
3. Sorry, but there is no such option in our theme and it requires additional code customization.
Regards
