Sidebar categories slowing down search results

Hi,

I am using fibo search plugin and it works great with the theme. Except that when I search for a product and hit enter, it really takes a while to load.

Upon closer inspection I realised that this delay is due to “all” of the categories being loaded up on the results page. This issue also happens with the woodmart default search bar.

Can I only have the relevent categories to my search loaded? This would fix the issue.

Yeah I know it’s faster right now, but that because when I deactivated the plugins, my category widgets disappeared completely.

Remember the issue is that the category widgets cause the search results to take a long time to load.

I still need the category widgets so once they are in the sidebar again the search results will be slow.

I would like a way for only the relevent categories be loaded in the search results.

OK, add the widget to the sidebar so we can check with it and see what is wrong.

Could you please enable the default theme and add all the same widgets to the sidebar so we can compare the speed.

I know it have always been loading around 10 secs, which is pretty long to load.

my original question was if we can cause the departments widget not to load on the search results page, or to only load the relevent categories.

Without the departments/categories the search loads pretty quickly.

WooCommerce has the same sidebar both for shop and search pages so you can disable this widget globally only.
