Single product layout not working with variable products

Hi, seems like you can’t create a single product layout if the shop only has variable products. It throws an error that there has to be a product created. Worked around this by adding a single product and deleting it after creating the layout.

I already fixed it by adding a single product as said, and it works after deleting it. It’s more if you as a developer consider this an issue and want to fix it. In my opinion it should recognize a variable product as a product, but it seems like it isn’t. You have all the info required if you want to try and reproduce it, there shouldn’t be any plugins causing a conflict here 🙂
I have just created a development website with variable products only, and was able to create a single product page layout without any errors. So we can’t reproduce the issue you mentioned. It would be great if you could show us on your website so we can troubleshoot and fix this.
