RustyBreadParticipantIs anyone else seeing long load times using the Basel theme? Has anyone got their site using the Basel theme to load in under 3 seconds?
I have a fresh site with a new installation and all I have done so far is import the basic Basel theme dummy content and my site takes around 4.2+ seconds to load. I tested the basel theme live demo and theirs even loads slow at like 3.5+ seconds.
Is this just a slow loading theme and has anyone gotten their site using this theme to load fast? Or is it an issue with my site?

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Thank you so much purchasing our theme and contacting our support center.
Do you mean 3-4 seconds about full loading of the home page or it is a server response only? If it is a full loading time than it is fast enough for such kind of page. It has a lot of images and this time is natural for this. Could you please provide us your website link so we can test it?
Kind Regards

Artem TemosKeymasterWe tested your home page and it is fast enough. As we can see, you are using caching plugin and the average page loading from the cache is 3-4 seconds. https://gyazo.com/8c98bf1137f31b41c86f886c918238bd
We see some 404 error on some of your images. Check the row with subscription form on your home page and upload a correct image there.December 18, 2017 at 6:03 am #29392
RustyBreadParticipantThis load time is just with the basic dummy content loaded. I just hope when I add all my products and images etc. the theme does not go to 5-6-7 seconds load times.

Artem TemosKeymasterBut this speed will not depend on our theme. Our theme is fully optimized and doesn’t add any extra time loading to your page. It will more depend on the content you use on the page (number of elements, products, images, sliders maybe some other plugins). But if you will see that our theme works much slower than other themes with the same number of content we will provide you a refund.

RustyBreadParticipantI mean 4+ seconds load time is actually kind of a long load time for just a basic theme install with just dummy content loaded and with barely any images on the site too. Studies show eCommerce sales will drop after just 3 seconds of loading time.
All other themes I have had load in around 2 seconds or under this theme seems to have a heavy load time on it.
Anyways I will load up some products and try to get it to work for me and see if I can get the load times faster.

KrissParticipantSimilar issues here:
A WordPress WooCommerce Staging site with Basel theme need around 1.4 sec
Same site with twentytwenty theme need only 0.4 sec
This is a significant difference.
We measure the timing with Query plugin.
Please advise.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello @Kriss,
1.4 sec loading time is a normal speed for our theme. Of course, plain twentytwenty theme will be much faster since it doesn’t have any content like mega menu, widgets, Visual Composer elements and others. You can’t compare these two themes. Of course, themes with much content will be loading a longer but 1.4 sec is quite fast.

RustyBreadParticipant@Kriss how did you get the basel theme to load so fast in 1.4 seconds? Is it just a small site with not a lot of content on it?
I wish I had that loading time with my ecommerce site right now with basel theme

Artem TemosKeymasterHi @RustyBread,
It may also depend on the hosting server and its response time as well as on a number of content elements used for your pages like products, images, sliders etc.
