kellybakriParticipantWhat am i doing wrong?
Hello, I am trying a new dedicated vps, did a migration and my site is going very slow. please see attached. at first the vps team troubleshooted php, etc. and said that too many requests and lot of wait time. They then upgraded php, etc. upgraded the VM itself. they also disabled several plugins. But now they came back saying the 100% CPU jump was alleviated when the theme was made inactive, and another theme was chosen. They say it may well be the theme. something is wrong.
Kindly advise.
Thank youAttachments:

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Could you please disable all plugins that are not related to our theme and provide us your admin access so we can check it?
Thank you in advance

kellybakriParticipantThank you for your reponse.
I do not know which plugins you are referring to. The plugins that are activated are for added functionality whether for infrastructure or features. In all cases. go ahead and deactivate/activate anything you need. consider this a sandbox environment for your use.
On this note, i have a weird problem that started a couple of weeks ago, the page would not load complete – i assume – so there will be no scroll bar and it is as if it partially rendered. it can happen on any page including homepage and mostly almost 100 on mobile Microsoft edge. It used to be with chrome as well, but it was somehow fixed on its own. Sometimes it happens on Firefox as well. please review as well and advise – as this point alone is driving me crazy and i do not have the know how to troubleshoot it on my own.
I will include full admin access in the box below:
Thank you.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Please, deactivate all plugins not-related to our theme so we can check if the problem is caused by our theme or not. Here is a list of plugins that come with our theme
Slider Revolution
Elementor/WPBakery page builder
Woodmart Core

kellybakriParticipantHello,
I deactivated all plugins, but please note the following:
You are asking me to deactivate all functionality in the store, including security, payment gateway, SMS gateway, 3PL, OTP login, WC related, SEO, Pixel, etc. I understand that this is for testing. But it will not be my store. Please note that i gave you full access and asked you to treat it as a sandbox environment so you can troubleshoot yourself and help me find the root cause, fix it if you can or at least point me in the right direction. I have limited Linux, WP or WC experience. You are qualified as the woodmart owner and expert and i am not. Which, by the way i believe is a lovely piece of work!
Do you have any addons/functionality for WC like customizable filters, loyalty, vouchers and points? wallet? taxonomies, order numbers, etc.?
Best regards,
KellyDecember 27, 2022 at 11:33 am #431453
Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
We tested a few pages and still see that pages are very slow. They need 5-10 seconds which is abnormal. Please, switch to the default WordPress and check the loading time to see if it is caused by WoodMart or not. Let us see how it works with the default theme either.
Kind Regards

kellybakriParticipantHello,
Please review yourself and advise. Btw, caching through Cloudflare is enabled through cname mapping. Let me know if you want it removed as well.
Thank you

kellybakriParticipantHello,
Much faster, with the current theme, but still lacking. I assume it could be due to lack of Redis and caching plugins.
Please investigate and advise.
Thank you.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Yes, we see that it is a bit faster but still too slow. It should load in 0.5s-1s. Note that your website is almost empty now so that is why you see the difference. But in fact, it is still very slow and we assume that the problem is with your server. https://gyazo.com/5379a53a36d08087d2e6f3b3b2c2b658

kellybakriParticipantHello,
I considered the possibility that it would be a server-side issue, so i created 2 new VPSs and they migrated the environment once using blogvault and the other using wpvivid (carried out by the company itself) on multiple class A cloud providers like GCP, AWS, Vultr, etc. and the result is not different as you can see. Please note that these are high spec dedicated servers not shared hosting and running on highest level cloud providers, DNS and caching as noted.
Also, the first work was running on LOMP Stack fully optimized. dev.kava.house
The additional testing stack you are using is running LAMP and is also fully optimized. hcg.digital (brand new setup 3 days old)
Both with REDIS, local caching, Cloudflare, etc.Accordingly, we need evidence/trace that it is a server-side issue so i can get the cloud provider to step in and fix it. for example, is it php, db, combination of issues, etc.?
What i am facing is stoppage from finishing the limited work left and cannot go live. Your help is much appreciated.
Best regards,
KellyDecember 27, 2022 at 5:35 pm #431587
Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Sorry but we are not server specialists and our support doesn’t cover such topics.
We don’t blame your server but we just show that the loading time with our theme is almost the same as with the default one. It means that there are no problems caused by WoodMart in this particular situation.
We would help you in case your website loads in 0.5 seconds with the default theme and takes 3-5seconds with WoodMart (on the same page with the same content). In this case, there should be definitely something wrong with our theme that we should fix.Kind Regards

kellybakriParticipantHello,
I need temp purchase codes as we will attempt the following on a couple of independent servers:
Install 2 new VPSs with new WP/WC installation on a new stack one for LAMP and one for LOMP:
1. Have a fresh db
2. install theme
3. install 5 needed plugins only + security, access control, logging and REDIS
4. import existing pages and started testing them 1 by 1
5. import 100 products sample set
6. add plugins 1 by 1 and start testing with the pages they work withI hope this will not be a lengthy exercise, but we are willing to try.
Please help.
Thank you.
Kelly.December 28, 2022 at 10:39 am #431689
Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
The messages from your screenshot have no relation to the performance on the server and response time.
As for the purchase code, you can use your own for this test. Just don’t forget to deactivate it when you finish your test.
Kind Regards

kellybakriParticipantHello,
1. Yes, but do they relate to the theme? and if so, how to mediate/remedy?
2. in this case we will have around 3-4 installations with the same code used at the same time. Of course, the 2 installations I mentioned would be used for a few days until we try to figure this out. but will it work?Best regards,
KellyDecember 28, 2022 at 12:43 pm #431747
Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
1. Most of them are not related to our theme. We will check and fix warnings related to our theme. But as for now, our theme warnings don’t influence your website performance in any way.
2. It is not necessary to activate the purchase code on your staging environments at all. You can use it for testing purposes without purchase code activation.
Kind Regards

kellybakriParticipantHello,
1. Thank you for reviewing and taking necessary actions.
2. unfortunately, i already activated on one of the new environments. i assumed that functionality would be limited otherwise. We should begin our trial in the next few days and i will update you if it helps you.
Best regards,
KellyDecember 28, 2022 at 3:38 pm #431808
Artem TemosKeymasterThe functionality will not be limited for testing purposes. Anyway, you can manage your activations in your account on our website.

kellybakriParticipantHello,
I have setup a new environment on high powered multi core NVME dedicated cloud server with fresh install of woodmart and most essential plugins (tested with both the basic 4 you motioned before and the cloud provider’s caching and security plugins + SMS functionality – same result on all tests irrespective of active plugins). the results are not 0.5-1 sec load as expected. I am afraid that if i start copying my design, products, material, we will wind up with the same results that i have shared with you previously.
The developer is saying if with fresh database with not a single product or custom page and we are getting unthrottled 1.9s load time then what will happen we copy our pages and add the necessary plugins? He asked that i forward the matter to you so you can work with us on getting the best results.
I need your input on this matter so i can resolve it once and for all.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
We just tested the link you sent and it takes 0.7-0.8s to load an uncached page which is quite good. Here is a screenshot https://gyazo.com/4d0e1da4e193d4173fc3255d5143214a
You can now test it with the default theme and compare the result.Kind Regards

kellybakriParticipantHi Artem,
I am asking because most of the plugins on the market do not support PHP 8.2 for sure. Some support 8.1 and a larger number support 8.0 and growing in adoption. Some cloud providers are forcing us off PHP 7.4 so we have to move to version 8. I need to decide if it is 8.0, 8.1 or 8.2 and since you are – with your shipped plugins – a major foundation of our site, then I have to decide what is the best option for us. So which version do you fully support that produces no warnings?
As for benchmarking, we use GTmetrix and Pagespeed with universal settings for all our tests so 1. it is closest to what our typical user would face (including latency, etc.) 2. we only compare apples to apples, irrespective of server, etc. Also, we always use http: so we force a redirect, which is also the typical use case:
GTmetrix: Test Server Location:
London, UK
Using:
Chrome (Desktop) 103.0.5060.134, Lighthouse 9.6.4
Connection:
LTE (15/10 Mbps, 100ms)Page speed:
Emulated Moto G4 with Lighthouse 9.6.6CPU/Memory Power: 1216
CPU throttling: 4x slowdown (Simulated)
Axe version: 4.4.1
Single page load
Initial page load
Slow 4G throttling

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Our theme is fully compatible with both PHP 8.1 and 8.2. But we didn’t test 3rd party plugins with PHP 8.2 yet. But they shouldn’t cause any problems anyway.
Kind Regards
January 18, 2023 at 7:59 pm #436159
kellybakriParticipantHere are the errors and warning that we are getting with PHP 8.1. Should we roll back to 8.0? Do you anticipate any improvement?
Thank you,

Artem TemosKeymasterWe don’t see any errors from our theme or theme-related plugins on your screenshot. Probably, they come with other plugins installed on your website.
Kind Regards
