marcopoloParticipantHi Team,
Thank you for introducing the Estimated Delivery Date functionality with the latest theme. It’s a much-welcomed addition! While the feature is great, I’d like to share a few recommendations for further improvement. Please don’t take this as criticism—these are just suggestions to make it even more user-friendly.
1. Cut-Off Time for Shipping
It would be great to have an option to set a daily cut-off time for order processing. For example, orders placed after the cut-off (e.g., 9 AM) would have their estimated delivery date pushed to the next working day. This is crucial for cases like ours, where couriers in our region do not accept packages after a specific time.2. Global Exclusion for Products
Currently, exclusions need to be added repeatedly for each shipping rule, which can be quite time-consuming. A global setting for product exclusions, with a multi-select option, would save a lot of time and make the process more efficient.3. Multi-Select for Shipping Zones
The current setup requires a separate rule for each shipping zone, which increases complexity and setup time. Enabling multi-select for shipping zones in a single rule would simplify the configuration process significantly.4. Extra Holidays/Exclusion Dates
It would be helpful to have an option to account for non-shipping days, such as public holidays, emergencies, or custom business off-days. These should automatically adjust the estimated delivery date calculation.5. Customer Notice for Excluded Products
If a product excluded from the delivery estimate is in the cart, a notice or warning should be displayed to inform the customer why the estimated delivery date is not shown. This ensures transparency and avoids confusion.6. Estimated Delivery Date in Emails
If not already implemented, the estimated delivery date should appear on the customer’s order confirmation and email notifications. This would be especially useful for addressing any disputes about delivery timelines.7. Informative Hyperlink or Tooltip
Adding a hyperlink or tooltip next to the estimated delivery date can guide customers to the policy page or clarify that the estimate is not a guaranteed delivery date. This small addition could improve customer understanding significantly.I understand some of these suggestions might require significant development effort, but I believe they could greatly enhance the feature’s usability. Your implementation of the current functionality is already impressive and has saved me considerable time compared to custom coding.
Thank you for considering these recommendations! I look forward to seeing how this evolves.
