    Hi Team,

We have been with Woodmart for a long time, using WPBakery.

Is it possible to switch to Elementor? If so, how is this done? I understand we would need to redesign content.

    Kind Regards,

    Hello,

It is not possible to switch to. You will have to recreate your site from scratch on Elementor.

    Hi Elise,

    Thanks for the update.

    1. Can you please clarify for me, can I just uninstall Theme and reinstall? So I don’t lose my data?

    2. What is the point of having ‘Page Builder’ switch in Theme Settings > General? Surely this should be locked or removed once you start using a builder (if you can’t change it without reinstall)

    Kind Regards,

    Hello,

Switching from one to another builder would not cause data loss. All the products, posts, and pages would remain. However, all the content created, for example, in WP bakery page builder would be messed and you will have to recreate all.

Got it. This should be fine as all content needs to be revised anyway.

Thank you for your quick replies 🙂

Hello, I have this same question. However, I’d like to know more details about exactly how to switch from one builder to another without data loss.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

You need to reinstall all and prepare a clean WordPress installation.

Install the theme and select the necessary builder during installation and recreate the whole content. The content created on one builder cannot be displayed on another builder.

Thank you. Perhaps it’s not in the scope of theme support to give detailed instructions on how to reinstall WP without data loss. It may be common knowledge for most developers, but for the sake any novices like me looking at this thread, here is the gist of what my hosting support helped me do:

    1. Hosting support did a backup of my site and database.
    2. They did a fresh install if WP.
    3. I reinstalled all my previous WP plugins.
    4. I reinstalled Woodmart with my new builder of choice (I wanted to switch to Elementor instead of WPBakery).
    5. Hosting then reloaded by saved database.
    6. The site was restored (all posts, pages, orders, and even the look of the site—customized header, etc), and Elementor worked correctly as the new page builder!

As mentioned above, any pages I had built using WPBakery were broken and needed to be redone using Elementor (or a WP editor).

    Hello,

    These steps would not work:

    5. Hosting then reloaded by saved database.
    6. The site was restored (all posts, pages, orders, and even the look of the site—customized header, etc), and Elementor worked correctly as the new page builder!

You can try exporting the content with Tools > Import/Export and then import to the new site, you will need to delete all the content as it would not work on the new builder.

Actually, you will need to recreate the site from scratch.

    Best Regards

I’m not sure what to say other than this worked for me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hosting support needed to help me find some missing media files…but other than that, I was back in business.

I did not install WPBakery in my step #3 above. Any pages created using WPB now offer the option to “Edit with Elementor.” For other pages (not created with WPB), when I go to “Edit page” there is now an “Edit with Elementor” button at the top. I have access to all the Xtemos Elementor built-in theme widgets. Everything seems to be working as expected.
