tag manager code

hi, there is a new version of the woodmart parent theme available however we have google tag manager code in the header.php. When we carry out the update am I correct in my understanding that this will be overwritten with the standard updated new header.php file. If so I would like to transfer the google tag manager code to the child theme however there is no header.php file there. could you please let me know how to create the header.php file which would incorporate all the parent header.php code or alternatively if you recommend another option of adding the google tag manager code to the child theme.

Or if you want to add it in the child theme, You need to copy the header.php file from the main theme to your child theme and add the code as you require.
