cricmParticipantHi! I’m trying to change the weight of my text font (Theme Settings/Typography/Basic/Text font) but it isn’t updating. The text size and font family update without problem but weight only updates on the footer. The page text, product description, etc, don’t update. Can you help?
Thank you!

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
So, we have confirmed from the Test Site the concerned option is working fine.
On your Site, can you please once make sure your WoodMart theme and Core plugin is updated to the latest version and then check back the issue again on your Site. The latest version of the Theme running is 7.1.4 and the Core version running is 1.0.36. If it is not updated then you can update the Theme and Core following the Documentation Guide: https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/update-the-theme/
If the issue still persists after updating the Theme and Core plugin, then could you please once try deactivating all the third party Plugins on your Site, remaining the Theme required ones activated. If the issue gets resolved, then reactivate them one by one to see which Plugin is causing the issue. If this doesn’t work for you then once also, try to activate the Parent Theme on your Site if you are using Child Theme on your Site.
If somehow the issue still persists, then please take complete Backup of your Site first, then provide us the WP-ADMIN Login details of your Site in the Private Content field along with the permission to completely debug your Site which includes deactivating all the third party Plugins and removal of on-Site Customization changes too, so that we can thoroughly check this issue on your Site and assist you accordingly.
Best Regards.

cricmParticipantHi there! My theme and core plugin are up to date. I tried deactivating all the plugins but the font weight was still the same on the product description and page text so no luck there. Same result when I activated the parent theme instead of the child theme.
Will that debug process remove all the customization I’ve done on the site so far? Can it be recovered without having to manually update all the options again?

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Yes, you can revert back the process done and things will be back like they were.
Further, regarding checking the initial mentioned issue please share your Site WP-ADMIN Login details in the Private Content field so that we can check this concern on your Site and help you out accordingly.
Best Regards

cricmParticipantSure! Here you have them.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Sorry for the inconvenience, but we have further checked this concern and found out that the Plugin “W3 Total Cache” was causing the conflict on your Site in this regard.
When we deactivated that, things were working fine by then. So, it is a third party Plugin conflict not a Theme end issue.
And according to the Envato Policy we don’t provide Support for the third party Plugin issues. You will need to contact the respective Plugin Support in this regard. They will guide you better.
Hope you can understand our limitations in this regard !
Further, for other certain Items like Menu Items, Product Titles have other specifically defined Font styling defined which is why the Basic Font itself doesn’t take effect on it.
Best Regards.

cricmParticipantHi there! I’m afraid the problem has not been solved after deactivating that plugin so I’m not sure that’s the cause. The product description text and the page paragraph text are still showing a different weight from what I selected for the general Text Font. They look bolded but I selected the Book 300 option. It looks like the font in the footer reacts to that change but not those other texts I mentioned.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
On your Site, under the Product page you don’t have the Product Description showing: https://snipboard.io/XAdU2j.jpg
Whereas, under the Short Description of the Product Page, you have an unordered list defined and in that when you go to Text tab of it there is a specific font-weight defined: https://snipboard.io/L9fVaz.jpg
And like we mentioned you until if specifically defined, the Basic Font won’t take place on that.
So, the Pages that we see on your Site right now have specific styling defined which is why they are not picking up Basic font. So, this is a fact due to which the changes aren’t in general taking place.Hope you can understand now !
Best Regards.

cricmParticipantThank you so much for pointing that out about the short description! Is there an explanation for why that’s defined that way when I didn’t do it manually? It happened the same on the Markets page text, which is not an unordered list.
Thanks a lot!
April 6, 2023 at 3:59 pm #457854
Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
For the Short Description concern, there is Rich Text Editor available there in that the Bold option is also available. So, until done manually from there it wouldn’t have shown that change.
Regarding the Markets page, there are also certain styling selected. Please see these images for reference: https://snipboard.io/eOpNPB.jpg, https://snipboard.io/2XDU8k.jpg, https://snipboard.io/oYEOMf.jpg
These are the reasons why there is a difference showing.
Best Regards.

cricmParticipantHi! In the case of the Markets page, I wasn’t referring to the headings but to the paragraph text. I’ve already updated it but the font weight was also 400 although I didn’t configure it that way initially. Anyway, I will keep an eye on that from now on. Thank you for your help!
