    Hello folks,

For the last 10-12 months my site has had on the worst page 97/100 and for the better up to 100/100 in mobile when checked with pagespeed, and for desktop i have had mostly 100/100. Every single page has very, very good.

But the after the 2 last woodmart updates things happend, my site got worse and now more than 50 pages is bad, 300-400 pages is ok but needs work and 30 pages is accepted as good with pagespeed and google search.

Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) is the worst and mostly it appear in header on icons like search, my account and cart, upto 0.25. I remember that something was changed with those icons as i had to resave them and re-add the username for my-account icon.

I have also noticed more and more use of CSS VARS that does not work very well with “Remove unused CSS” option in WP-Rocket, which is the very best option of WP-Rocket. With a little work it took my site from 85/100 to 95/100 in pagespeed.

So for the last month my site has gone from Rating from Core Statistics for the Internet: green/GOOD to red/BAD.

Is there anyone else that has noticed the same?

    Hi Rune,

Thanks for the detailed report. We haven’t seen a general regression with the last two WoodMart releases. With each update we work to improve performance and reduce the amount of CSS and JS loaded. If nothing specific in the theme visibly changed on your side, the sudden drop in scores and the CLS spikes are most likely related to an external optimization setting or custom code rather than the theme itself.

    Kind Regards

    Hello,

Yes, not easy to say what happend as there has been no customizations during the last 3-4 months. The only change is woodmart and woocommerce updates. Also i have removed a few YITH plugins (dynamic pricing and waitlist), now using the options built into woodmart.

The big drop with pagespeed happend 13. february, going from 350 good pages to 15 good, after that gradually going down. I checked woodmart and i did the last minor update 27. february, the biggest one was earlier, but have no date.

I have now done a total clean up on wp-rocket, cleaned out all cache and emptied all wp rocket db-tables and so far it actually looks like i am on the right track, result looks ok on page per page basis, but will need a few more weeks before i get the average stats from lighthouse and search console.

Thanks for the update, Rune. It’s great to hear the cleanup is helping and results are looking better per page. Please keep monitoring your Lighthouse and Search Console stats, and let us know if you have any questions or notice anything unusual.
